ASSESSMENT

“Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of ongoing formative assessment and provides students with opportunities to improve their work based on feedback. The teacher includes a variety of formative and summative assessments.”

I have demonstrated this through:

  • Building rubrics and assigning them at the start of the project
  • Self-assessment at the end of units, large projects
  • Constant feedback given through discussion
  • Sumative assessments include: tests, projects, speech, diagrams, written reports

Assessment is a process of showing and telling students and parents what they know about what they learned. It is objective and is given best when a clear target is given for students to achieve. Also, assessment act as a reflective tool for me to see how successful students were learning from my instruction.
